Chilon Siu is the Director of Policy Engineering for Flah & Company. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the advanced life insurance market covering case design, product research and product design.
Chilon began his career in the life insurance industry when he joined The Todd Organization of the Carolinas, L.L.C. in 1996 as an analyst in the design and product area. His responsibilities included sale support and product evaluation in the corporate-owned and bank-owned life insurance market. Major plan designs included non-qualified funding of deferred compensation, supplemental benefit and death benefit plans. Chilon regularly participated in various Todd Carolinas’ Special Services projects in the areas of product development and product competitiveness surveys.
In 2001, Chilon joined Mutual of New York (MONY) Corporate Strategies Group as the Director of COLI Illustration. His duties included acting as internal wholesaler to provide sales support on behalf of MONY regional account representatives and to consult with COLI/BOLI insurance brokers across the nation to secure eventual placements of MONY insurance products. In 2001, Chilon worked with department pricing actuaries and was directly involved in the development a new pricing offering of MONY’s lead COLI product (CSVUL Limited) in order to compete at the top level of large-scale COLI cases. Chilon also managed relationship with department illustration software vendor and coordinated with them in 2004 to roll out a web-based illustration software dedicated to multi-life guaranteed-issue BOLI cases.
In 2005, Chilon entered the high net worth estate planning market when he joined Harris, Crouch, Long, Scott & Miller, Inc. as Manager of Design and Analysis. At Harris Crouch, Chilon provided sales support to multiple life producers in coverage-oriented as well as accumulation-oriented life insurance cases, by conducting targeted product studies according to the specific plan design and underwriting fact pattern involved. In addition, while performing his duties on behalf of Harris Crouch, Chilon had the privilege of collaborating with many life insurance professionals from various insurance companies and broker dealer groups across the country.
